My Goal.
 
I would consider myself to be a full-time successful trader when I can trade standard lots. If with 1 mini-lot my returns are 150-200 pips per months, that translates to $200 per month. By the time I can make my account ten-fold, I'll be able to trade 1 standard lot. At 200 pips on a standard lot, translates to $2000 per month. By this stage, I'll be comfortable enough to solely rely on forex trading. Some of this would be use for living expenses, but mostly to throw back in to compound my trades.

It's going to take a while if I were to acquire the funds on my own, either through other means or through profits from my current account, it's going to take a long while. For me to be able to trade a standard lot, margin required is $1000. Due to the nature of my trading plan, which is semi-martingale, I need to start off a trade with 1%. Anything more is risky if the account was hit with a long string of losers. That means I need $100,000 in my account to safely trade just 1 standard lot.

My plan is to trade on my mini live account and be profitable for some time, maybe 6 months or a year. With that track record, I'll apply to be an account manager, so I can manage other people's money (OPM) for much much higher returns. This way hopefully I'll be able to grow my account to the $100,000 needed to trade standard lots.

Short term goal: Build a profitable track record, 6 months and above.

Medium term goal: Manage other people's funds for much higher returns, to be put into my own trading account.

Long term goal: To have $100,000 or more in my trading account so I will be able to trade standard lots. From here on, I'll be generating $1500 - $2000 monthly for starters.

This might be someone's P/L over a year. Generally, if a person trades without a set goal, meaning they will stop trading once a target is hit, there will be positives and negatives in trading months.

Since my money management plan dictates I stop trading after making 50 pips a week, this is how it should look like. Even if I predict not to make the full 200 pips in some months, as there will be times when to achieve the 50 pips it takes 2 weeks, it is still far more profitable.
